V zemích Evropské unie v průměru klesl podíl nových vozů poháněných dieselovými motory zhruba na deset procent. U nás se zájem o ně také stále snižuje, ale stále si mezi jednotlivými typy pohonů udržují přibližně pětinový díl celkového koláče.
